P90X - The Log

i am daniel. i don't write blogs. i don't read blogs. this is simply a log of my exercises and my stats, my real-life journey over 90 days. you'll find no stereotypical blogging here. no long excerpts on health and fitness. no lingering opinions that color my world. no rambling. except this. this is it.

NOTE: Instead of creating a separate post for each of my 90 days, I will just update an image of my log file, courtesy of The Original P90Xcel.

Preparation

introduction of myself and P90X

My name is Daniel. I will not be posting any "before" pictures (most likely) until I have "after" pictures to compare. You can see my smiling face on my profile in the mean time. Now that the introduction is out of the way, I am not going to introduce P90X to you or try to explain to you why P90X is so great, or what it's all about. If you want to know that, go to the P90X website and find out for yourself. One the other hand, you may learn quite a bit about it as you read my log of events. I'll be tallying up my records and stats and measurements, I'll take a couple pictures, and I'll post some other stuff that I find to be generally necessary for completing this program.

One thing I find to be generally necessary is food. Lots of food. I am a slightly above-average sized man at 6'1", 210~ish pounds, and based on my weight, the program has me on a 3000 calorie diet. That's a lot of veggies and lean meat. So I went to my local wholesale food market and stocked up. I also got a good protein/amino acid shake for post-workouts to aid with muscle recovery. You could buy the one that P90X developed and markets, but you can find stuff similar to it or better at your local GNC or sometimes your local grocer.

Do your research, buy what will work (not just any old protein shake you see), and get makes you and your wallet happy. Me? I'm not using anything at this point.

I have used Muscletech Anabolic Halo Post-Workout Drink and absolutely loved it. It works great and tastes great to boot. It's way better than drinking thsoe nasty chocolate shakes like Muscletech Nitro-Tech Hardcore, which I've also used, by the way. That's how I know what it tastes like.
